Our Shelters
The City of Onalaska Department of Parks and Recreation offers park shelter, green space, and sport field rentals for public use in five City parks. Cost per facility rental varies based on amenities included with each rental, and group classification. Full descriptions of each facility can be found here
 
General Information
Park shelters are rented on a first come, first serve basis. Park shelters & green spaces may be reserved up to one year in advance, from May 1st through September 30th, the Onalaska Community Center can be reserved year-round.
 
 
Reservations
Reservations can be made online, or in person at the Parks & Recreation office located within the Onalaska City Hall. In-person reservations can be made between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday. We do not take reservations over the phone at this time. We do not allow early entry into the shelter for set-up. If you would like to do so, the facility must be reserved for both days. We do not take reservations over the phone. Payment is due in full at the time of your reservation to secure your date. Reservations are non-refundable.
 
 
Cancellations & Changes
Our facilities and shelter reservations are in high demand, and often book months in advance. For this reason, we do not offer refunds for facility rentals. You may reschedule your facility rental and retain your rental fee up to one time beyond your original reservation. Rescheduled facilities must be rescheduled at the same rate, or higher. If you reschedule your rental for a facility of higher value, you must pay the balance in full at the time of the change. Changes to your reservation can be made up to 10 days prior to your original reservation. Cancellations due to inclement weather will be reviewed at the discretion of the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation. 
 
Rates & Group Classification
 Cost per facility rental is charged per day. Facility rental fees are based on amenities offered at each shelter, and the group classification that the renter qualifies for. Please refer to the table below to determine your group classification. 
 
 
Group 1 

Directly affiliated with the City of Onalaska. Groups, committees or organizations that are directly affiliated
with or operate for the benefit of the City of Onalaska.

Group 2

Service groups, civic groups, charitable organizations, education institutions oriented in the
City of Onalaska community with tax-exempt status.

Group 3 City Residents. Non-civic, private, religious and commercial groups located in the City of Onalaska.
Group 4 Non-Residents. Non-civic, private, religious and commercial groups not located in the City.
