KEEPING WATER CLEAN & SAFE

IT IS EVERYONE'S JOB TO PROTECT WATER FROM UNNECESSARY POLLUTION

Our distribution system contains 541,239 lineal feet of public water main. The City of Onalaska has over 6700 meter connections that registers the water pumped from our four wells. In 2021, the average pumpage per day at our 4 wells was over 2 million gallons. The source of water for the Onalaska system consists of four drilled groundwater municipal wells, each finished in the sand and gravel (glacial outwash) aquifers. Our five reservoirs store 3,275,000 gallons of water which aid in water pressure and fire protection. Chemical addition consists of chlorine and fluoride. Chlorine is provided for disinfection purposes and fluoride for the prevention of tooth decay. Each chemical is monitored everyday for safety and water quality.
