The Police Department created a Problem Solving Team (PST) in 1998 to address special problems in the community. The team, made up of officers from all shifts, received training in the SARA model of problem solving and addressed criminal issues as well as quality of life issues.

The Department continues to offer a Bike Patrol program in the summer months. Ten trained officers use two patrol bikes which were obtained through a grant from Woodman's Food Store.

The Department is also very active in Special Olympics and the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Torch Run. Officers work with the 160 Special Olympic Athletes in the area, coaching weight lifting and skiing, and hosting fund raising events.

A Citizens Police Academy is held yearly to expose citizens to the duties and problems of law enforcement.
