Court Time and Location

Juvenile Court is held on Monday nights at 3:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers located on the first floor of the Onalaska City Hall Building. Clerks will open the Chamber doors at 2:45 p.m. to begin checking defendants in on a "first come - first served basis".

Parent or Guardian Required

The Coulee Region Joint Municipal Court has jurisdiction over persons between 12 and 17 years of age. Juveniles have the same rights as adults with respect to pleas. Juveniles that are 16 and under and have received an ordinance citation, have the right to a private (closed) hearing, but may waive this right. A parent or guardian must accompany the juvenile, or the Judge or City Attorney may postpone the case and issue subpoenas.

Juvenile Court Dispositions may include but are not limited to: 

  • Forfeitures 
  • Suspension of Driving Privileges 
  • Community Service 
  • Alcohol or Drug Assessments
  • Retail Theft Restorative Option
  • Review of School Attendance - Excessive Absence Program
